Thanks for all the pictures and input! Gotta love the C3 community
I have always wanted to buy a C3 in need of some TLC, but it is very intimidating to me. Hopefully I can squeeze enough information from you guys and gals to make me confident enough

When I started with my car, I didn't know SQUAT about a C3. Or a Small Block Chevy.
I know enough about working on cars and taking things apart and figured WHAT THE HECK.
My wife wanted a "classic" car and I've always wanted a Corvette. So the two came together into finding "MY" car.
I have touched about every single item in the engine bay as well as several other things. I have a second frame on-hand an am about to embark on a complete rolling chassis build.
Yes, a C3 is a little more difficult/intimidating than, say, a pickup truck. But it's just metal and bolts. Just take your time with things.
And get the right "starting" car. If you get a car for $3k thinking you'll make it up, you won't. You'll spend $15k getting the $3k car to a point you WOULD have started at if you had just started with a $12k car. Guarantee it.
And get what you want. Don't get an auto and think you'll convert it to a stick. You CAN, but it is a major PITA. Just wait and get a stick. Or a big block. Or a 350. Or a convertible. Whatever. Just START with something that looks RELATIVELY CLOSE to what you want to END UP with...
