Default California Stingrays ride into Wrightwood, 9-20-2014

California Stingrays run to Wrightwood 9-20-2014, open to all classes of Corvette, La Canada Flintridge, up Angelus Crest Hwy (Hwy 2), lunch at Newcomb’s Ranch then off to scenic town of Wrightwood (approx. 50 miles one way). There are some of us planning on spending the evening in Wrightwood then traveling home Sunday morning. Come join the fun! Times and staging locations yet to be determined and will be posted to the thread as soon as possible.

We will be staging on Town Center Dr. east of Angeles Crest Hwy, just off the 210/Foothill Freeway in La Canada Flintridge at 0900 Saturday morning. After a quick meet and greet we should be heading up the hill by around 0930, ETA Newcombs at 10:00 to 10:30ish.

MrJlr (Jeff) will be coordinating a separate primary staging location for any cruisers heading North from the IE area so for local info please watch for his posts, pm or contact mailto:jeff@socalstingrays.com.

This party is getting better......

If you guys are interested in spending the night you may want to call early, the rooms in Wrightwood are very limited.

The new engine should be done and back in by then. Couldn't make Neptunes, the new block hugger headers were supposed to go in, because even at 8 PM, with the T-tops off and on the freeway, my feet were still frying!

We have no idea of exactly how many miles are on the original L48, because it came with a zero'd out speedo, but it's got some miles on it. The extra block we have was a fresh 0.20 rebuild that never got installed and we're going to go 0.30 over. It is a four bolt main. Going to use the aluminum L98 heads, but will install 2.02 valves, as well as balancing and blueprinting. I want 375 - 400 at the crank. We're also going to install serpentine belt set up from the 1989-1990 V8 Caprice. Dropping it off next week on Friday. Then the new block huggers and a new exhaust system to fix the idiot installation that it has now (misrouted POS).
