Looking good JR......Stay focused if you can. Sometimes a break is good.
My Vett has been sitting in the garage almost 2 yr's now with little or nor activity. Medical slow down, new house and yard to do....hobbies come last...Hooking up a remote bat cable at the rear of car, just incase batteries go dead and door poppers need activation.
Your doing fine keep it up, everyday it will change. I am not sure if a person wants to really finish the project, cuz what would you work on then???? Driving the car is one thing but it does not fulfill the hands on tinkering we need.

Thanks Doug.
My next project is to attach the ball joints to the control arms but I don't like the bolts that were provided so I'm gonna see if I can find nicer ones from Fastenal. I'll see the vendor guy at work Monday.

I have read your whole thread , great progress on a very needy car. Good to see .
Are you planning on re-using those front rotors?
Why im asking is there obviously original and if theres enough thickness left ( min 1.125 inch ?) Although they look rough a good blast would clean the hat and outer edge up nicely and you would keep better quality rotors than most aftermarket stuff now-days. !
Im only saying this as thats what I did when I redid my 77 , I left the two pieces rivetted together and made sure they went back on the same axles. New bearings and seals of course, no problem with runout as well.
Just something to consider

Ok with the Thanksgiving madness out of the way I hope to get back to making progress on my 73.
I started by suspending the front clip (I got from 530Planeman) out of the way so I can work on reassembling the front end.

Its not much but I want to do something every day and keep moving forward.
Got lower control arm and one spindle in and boy it didnt take much to get that 550 lb spring in. No weight at all just the frame. I put a bottle jack under the lower arm and jacked it up and turned the lock nut on the ball joint.

(Of course you know NOT to torque the bushings until the full weight of the car is on the control arms---to keep the rubber from separating)

Thanks, a friend gave me that light he worked for the power and light co. it was a junker he gave me this spring. He lost his fight with brain cancer about 3 months after that. He knew he was dying but wanted to get that fixed up for me. He rigged it to work off 110
