Default 68 L88 Resto-International Blue

Hey everybody, happy to be working on our next L88 restoration. This one is a 1968 from Florida. She is currently 1/5 l88's we have on going at the shop right now. Enjoy!

A real beauty! Would love to see even more pictures of the interior if possible. That one looks sooo original. You folks must do amazing work to be trusted with so many of these rarest of the rare classics. Congratulations on scoring another one.

The first picture didn't look like it needed anything, but the following ones revealed a little wear and tear. Tell us more of the condition. Is it a running and driving car?

it does run and drive, everything is there for the most part, just all needs to be gone through. The ride is pretty rough and it doesn't exactly hook up the way we want an l88 to but for the most part its a good car. with a little tlc it could be driven now but for what it is the owner is doing the right thing by letting us restore it.

as for trusting us with these cars, we've been doing this since the 80's and have touched plenty of L88's. We love all corvettes and muscle cars.

I've always wondered does the L88 have an air filter somewhere or just that screen?

The paper filter is in the air box in the hood. The hood plenum seals to the air cleaner base at that foam seal you see in the photo.

That is the same year & color combination as the one I had. Strange because my old one is also in FL. The one you have doesn't belong to a doctor dose it?

I watch those videos almost daily! I hope that one day my little blue small block sounds anywhere remotely close to that one!

I am building an L-88 clone and found that K+N makes a filter that fits in the hood space that flows a lot better.

It's also the color combination as the 1968 L-88 Franklin Mint one I have and like the L-88 I had.

Thanks for sharing.

Just an observation???
A very early shift boot and hi latch seats???
My May '68 orig build has low latches and later style shift boot
Is this car reported to be all orig?
Meant for discussion purposes only

We thought she didnt sound so hot. We decided to advance the timing, bringing it up from a 6-700 idle to 9-1100. She's a lot more responsive. We are well aware that GM has their timing specs set a little low for these cars, but they also told you it had 430HP. We like em' fast and loud.

Inside the air chamber. This is attached to the underside of the hood and is actually how it sits on the air cleaner base.
