Default Not street legal?

I am replacing my intake manifold gasket and know I currently have a felpro 1206 on my car. Reading through the specs, etc I find the vendors say "not street legal". How is a gasket not street legal?

Maybe it blocks the heat crossover.

If it says not street legal you better not use it.

No one will know but you once it's on although your car will run rough until enough heat gets though the intake from the engine to warm things up and even out the fuel distribution/atomization. If you use the factory choke it will not work well if at all (stay closed much longer). Unless you live in the warmer states I'd reconsider using it.

This. Even in So Cal, my stock 69 BB ran like crap for about 15 minutes untill everything heated up. I got caught up in some of the hoopla about GM not knowing anything and some of the big bs talk and blocked my cross over passage when I needed to replace my intake manifold gasket. I opened it up shortly thereafter. This was alot better for a daily driver.

Do you still have the original carb on the car? If the carb has been replaced with an aftermarket unit that has an electric choke, you do not need the heat riser open.
