Today I finished what I should have done a few years ago. When I put my shop up the metal sides sit into a trough that is filled inside and outside with concrete, I filled all except the north side outside. So today I spent the complete day putting in the concrete.

They aren't easy to see in the background.....I lined the entire rear wall of the garage with white cabinets that are 6' above the floor so I can park the vehicles closer to the back wall and still have access to the cabinets. (Shelves would have been 1/3 the cost---but cabinets hide all the parts/supplies.)

I covered the entire wall next to the Corvette with well-attached pedboard.....I am gradually removing my carpentry tools and hanging all Corvette related parts on the new pegboard, making it easy to grab what I need with-out climbing into the attic any more

I also installed a heavy-duty work table mounted to the wall with heavy-duty hinges secured to the wall (the table easily supported all the differential suspension parts)....a nice vice is mounted on one corner.

the two front legs of the bench are hinged legs that unlock and will fold under the table.........the table will lower flat against the rear wall when the bench is not in use, since the two car garage has limited space.

I also added a worklight on 3 foot long drop-chains to the garage ceiling directly over the engine bay of the car so a drop light doesn't have to be dealt with.

Thursday I changed the solvent in my parts washer. One of the best shop tools I put in a few years ago besides the cost of the solvent

Im currently in the middle of a thunderstorm here in East Texas, and I am working on my interior and jamming out. As for what I am doing to the garage, in the next few weeks it will be remodeled and built the way it should have been built. As for right now, I am only making messes!

Poured a 26x28 foundation last fall. Installed radiant heat in the floor. Framed, sided, trimmed, wired and insulated a new garage for my 68 restoration. Should be sheet rocking in the next two weeks than 2 insulated doors. I also framed and added stairs to a 11x27x8 storage area in the attic. I am like a 57 year old kid anticipating a present. I really am having a hard time waiting to restart my project after a year of prepping. This forum and all of you really help to keep the passion alive.
THANK YOU

Default garage

I built this last year. Started my restore in Jan. and up until now I have not given it much thought. I would like to fix it up into a nice shop.

I remember building my shop 30 x 40 and a 27 x 27 garage at the same time some years ago... I first put the shop up then framed and built the garage. I had a concrete guy do the slabs but built both by myself

Getting ready to convert our 2 car garage in to the C3 home/man cave. Have just enough room for the car right now as we have so much crap from old house. Plan on car area and a little spot with tv, fridge, and a to sit down and smoke a cigar.
