summer fun (pic heavy)
Hello everyone,
Been a busy summer here, went to several shows over the past few months and had a great time. Unfortunately because of a hard drive crash I hadn't got a chance to post pics... until now.
I picked some choice shots, I hope you all enjoy!
Ja-Mar cruise night, Fort Dodge Ia 7-4-14
Good Guys Heartland Nationals, Des Moines Ia, 7-6-14
....And me killing cones on the auto cross course
Corvettes on the river. LeClaire, Ia 9-6-14

Very nice. Looked like a great time to which I could spend a whole day just looking. Thanks for posting. how'd you do auto-crossing?

The car really isn't set up for it and I don't have enough seat time to be anywhere near decent, let alone good. However, I do believe I'm going to need some sort of 12 step program to stop. Its just too much fun!
The really funny thing my brother in-law was there watching and kept saying.. "you need to go FASTER" and then I took him along for a lap and afterwords he said "That.... was TERRIFYING!"
In the second autoX pic you can kinda see his hand out the window trying to hang on to the the A-pillar.

Another thanks for posting your pics. Never been to a Vette only show before. After reading your other thread and seeing pics I would be a little in the air on whether to go or not myself with my old beat up C3 but then after seeing the diversity of your pics (and the fact that your car looks better than most C3's I've owned) looks like you were in perfect company. That's quite a gathering of corn fed vettes. I doubt a vette only show here in upstate SC would have that kind of turn out.

Thank you everyone for all of the positive feedback, in BOTH threads! My car is a solid "40 footer"... What the pictures don't show is hacked up dash for a mod I hope to finish in couple weeks. The Hodge-podge of non-correct parts, chips ,scratches, and the dark spot on the nose just below the drivers head light in the first autoX pic... That's is the result of swapping ends on slick highway and taking out a road reflector in the process.
The perfectionist in me wants everything to be.. well perfect, but my Hot Rod brain says:
It will always be driven.
It will always be waiting for the 'next upgrade'
It will always have a greasy hand print on it somewhere
I can't deny what/who I am.
I do hope everyone enjoyed the pics, and if me bombing around in my junk has inspired some to do more with/ enjoy their cars more.. that is Awesome!

I'm sure we all enjoyed the pictures. These cars were meant to be driven "perfect" or not. Inspiration is always welcomed. Thanks!

Superb pictures! You take really good photos! I really liked the variety of cars! The Nova gasser was awesome. Liked the Detomosa Pantera a lot (and to think, they sold them at the Lincoln Mercur dealerships! Ain't that bizarre! Thanks so much for taking the trouble and posting the great pics!
