1st 2014 Fall Cruise
Finally found (made) time to get out for a cruise. Weather cooperated although it was windy. Went to an area I hadn't been to before and found some great farming country. Not much for farmers fields as their crops are all off the fields by now. But the fall colors are all out now. Enjoy.
Old set of gas pumps
A real quiet spot enclosed by trees.
Looking down the valley where the flood plain/lake will be after the new dam is built.
I've posted this picture before with the car in the foreground but the foreground colors weren't out yet. if you look close you can see a bunch of people in the far field. They are Archeologists searching and finding a lot of very old stone tools.
After a 250mi. drive and 8 hrs I get back home and find this 300 yards down the street from my house.

Thanks for the great pics
(Your area may not seem unusual to you, but it's outstanding---------flatland, swamps, and alligators down here.....I do go look at Ole Man Rivvaa about once a week.....it's always the color of hot chocolate milk----with a few tug boats instead of marshmallows!)
Ohhh.....we're just starting the 2nd phase of summer---I'll only need to mow the lawn once a week until December(hopefully)
Post more scenery of the car every chance you get/great little quiet church pic/future reservoir too!

Nice pictures. I like the gas pumps and the colors in the last one.

Wow! Great pics! Good thing you didn't need to fill up at the gas station!
Why do they need a new dam? What are they going to do with it?
I like the church pic best.

Shmoky, i always look fwd to seeing your pics! A small group of us (husbands and wives) are heading out on our first fall cruise in about an hour. We just a little bit down the Trans Canada from you but will post up a couple pics. Scenery won't compare to yours but what a fantastic week. Summer finally arrived this week!
