Default nice a nice

Man that looks great. I'm doing a 1980 Camaro, I can relate to all the work that goes in to prepping the engine bay.

That undercoat goes on great.

Keep them cards and letters coming.

First coat of clear is on and I just had to get some pictures up before going out for 1 or 2 more. I think it came out great for basically my first time spraying anything of significance.

Sorry... my camera doesn't have a stabilizer and I've had a TON of Pepsi Max today lol.

The color in the garage is dark... very subtle for those who aren't looking at it. But I bet out in the sun parked at a show it'll really pop. That's my hope at least and at the very least it has been a great learning experience painting the engine bay. It's not perfect...but good enough!

Aren't you glad you picked your option #3? Cyber gray looks awesome. Great job!

yeah. And spraying the firewall wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was.

For this high pearl color I don't think it matters all that much about technique but more about getting the right PSI. There's no way I can be 90degrees on every panel in the engine bay so I just did what I could... and it seems to have worked.

I'll see about getting it out in the sun tomorrow if it's nice out. Then I'll get a good idea about what it'll look like.

Well here it is out in the cloudy sky. The color really is hard to get good shots of as depending on the angle or position it's completely different shades of gray.

That looks great Punisher! Its a good feeling after a lot of hard work to finish a project , Even if it is part of a larger one and just stand back and take it all in . Isn't it?

Definitely releaving seeing the paint go on smooth enough for a beginner to be happy with.

I'll definitely have WAY more appreciation for those cleaned up firewalls I see from now on as it wasn't easy. All that cement the factory used to glue it all together had to be ground down. lots and lots of sanding to make the fiberglass smoothed out and visually go away. All in tiny nooks and crannies.

Word of advice for anyone doing this... sponge sanding blocks!!!!!!!!

Not what I wanted to happen first day working on my firewall

I'm doing my best trying not to get depressed by just brushing it off and keep saying to myself "**** happens"
