Blower Motor Noise
The Blower motor on my 78 has started to occasionally squeal very loud... Can some one tell me the best way to disconnect it without affecting anything else.. Also I will change it out later has anyone done this ? I am guessing that it has to be done from the inside,, but I hope i'm wrong.. Thanks for any info.....

Easier way is to disconnect the resistor plug on the heater box. It's going to look like the top half of this (black plate with spades sticking out):

I replaced the blower motor on my. 81... Cost $15 and took like 20 minutes!
Removed the screws inside the fender well to remove the radiator overflow canister... Then it was easily accessible on the outside if the firewall! Remove the 5 screws or so holding it on, unplug to power wire... Remove , swap the fan to the new one, and reinstall... Super easy dude! Solved my squeeling issues immediately! ;-)

To get my blower motor out, I loosened the overflow tank, removed the 5 screws and 2 plugs (1 for ground, 1 for power) and pulled the blower motor out. Flipped it around in the cavity and then pulled the cage off, pulled the cage and motor out separately.

Mine 'had' AC... Previous owner had it removed when the 383 was dropped in... So, the firewall has all the bumpouts etc... But the condenser and lines were removed... So, perhaps I have a little more room under the hood than a stock motor with everything still installed... ;-) but it was a surprisingly simple and cheap swap for mine...
