Default best craigslist bargain on hard top

I crawl the net daily for bargains and see a 68-82 hard top, guess it fits the custom convertibles after 75,

I think I could use this for a custom Idea until I see the price was 2500.00 not 250.00

I see really pristine tops go for 400-800 so what am I missing on this one?????

You're missing the drugs stashed in that 5 gallon bucket

Sold one in slightly better condition at Carlisle a few years ago for $300 and I was happy to get that much...

Obviously you are paying a premium for the patina.

I have seen so much stupid stuff on CL. Ads with no price at all, so you scour the ad thinking you missed it, but no, it's not there. So you think I am going to email the seller and ask what he wants? No I am not. And then there's the ad where the guy is accepting serious offers but has no asking price, and even writes in the ad, "Please don't ask me what I will take for it. I am accepting serious offers." Sorry, not interested in playing your game.

Replacing the patina with black vinyl, new weatherstripping, polishing the SS trims, replacing headliners, can get expensive. The OP speaks of $250.00. That would not even cover shipping!

Those ads are phishing, they really don't want to sell it of don't care they think some moron will offer them some big figure and then they found their sucker and will sell it, if I bored I always low ball those dolts....

Your top, I assume is yours is very sweet and still not a 2500.00 top...in all due respects...

I think we are all misunderstanding each other,
I got confused so what I am saying is that top on CL is not worth much more if any over 250.00 the way it is,
Your top is worth top dollar for a top whatever that price is but top dollar is less than 2500.00
I hope I didnt make it worse...
