Default Corvette in Detroit

Guys-

Great forum that you have here.

I am looking to purchase a 68-72 Corvette for my father whom has always coveted these cars. In particular, I want a white, automatic with preferably red interior (however I am flexible on this element).

I found one that appears to be in my price range in Detroit at GR Auto. They appear to have a massive inventory. I frequently participate in the RENNLIST forums for Porsches and members will often check cars out for others as time permits.

Is there anyone in Detroit that would be willing to check this car out for me? Again, I am a complete Corvette novice, so any input you can provide is wildly appreciated.

assuming it is the white one with the light brown interior.
1. Looks like the steering wheel has a cover on it, why?
2. The passenger side shoulder harness and seat belt appear to be wired together, why?
3. AC compressor is missing.
4. Not original valvue covers or air cleaner.
5. Various other aftermarket parts and missing vacuum hoses.
6. The console plate has been changed to resemble a 1970 LT-1.
7. Not original distributor

I'll stop incase this is not the car you have in mind

You nailed it. That is exactly the car I was looking at. Looking for a driver more than a pure original specimen, although at that price point I would expect some of the items you highlighted to be addressed.

I guess I should re-title the thread, "Looking for a 68-72, white, automatic with red interior".

Thanks a million.
