Default Power Antenna - '79 Fender Options

While my 79 has the factory AM/FM/CB radio and the inoperative factory Power Antenna, I have given up seeking a GM Factory AM/FM/CB Power Antenna replacement and will install a regular AM/FM Power Antenna. I note that my fender is "smooth" at the antenna location as opposed to a "round circular depression". What is the difference and is there a PN associated with the smooth fender option?

Check postings by Forum member KapsSA or search 1979 am/fm/cb antenna. Below I have pasted one of the postings.

Early 79s have an antenna with an aluminum motor housing with a plastic "bezel" snapped into the fender.
Late 79s have a plastic body antenna with a chrome bezel set into a flat circular depression in the fender.
Both use the same nylon repair cable. Altho sold as for a late antenna it will work with the earlier one, too.

Good Luck.
