I think you have your Indy race tracks confused...IMS, not IRP

Hi,
I certainly hope that Bloomington Gold can settle down now and concentrate on once again becoming what it was years ago.
It used to be worth a 12-14 hour trip…. and I hope it will be again!
Regards,
Alan

I wish they would move it back to Bloomington where it belongs. The Bloomington/Normal area has expanded greatly since it was there years ago, more hotels, restaurants, just everything.....there could be a place for it there again.

I thought the reason they moved to St Charles was that the Bloomington site was too dusty or too muddy when it rained. The problem with St Charles was that it was a bitch to get around in all the Chicago area traffic. The move to Champaign did not seem to go very well as it was difficult to find favorite vendors and attendance seemed to be down.
I too hope they settle down in one place. It seems to take at least two visits to each location to learn your way around.
They also need to keep the vendor's fees low as I have heard several complain that it costs too much. A show like that needs lots of vendors and many choices of "parts swappers" to make it a success.

The original move from Bloomington was the loss of the use of the MacLean County Fairgrounds. The second relocation and quick move from Bloomington was because the new site drastically lost available space there. Dust and rain was never a factor.

Attendance and vendors are down at every show, including Carlisle. Champaign didnt work out because the U of IL campus was having and will continue to have major construction right in the middle of the show area.
