Bought this car 1st week August this year original 31 K mile car L 48 auto
Blk interior. Last time licensed 1995, needed everything.

A good 5 footer at this point. Bumpers still in primer & paint needs touched up. Still more work to do.

I know it felt great to put some miles on it after getting it safe to drive!

DG It did feed good except the drivers window was stuck down again @ 24 degrees outside.
Cold but fun. Now onto the leaking transmission & some quotes for painting bumpers & touch up work.

Congrats! It's always a fantastic feeling to get the car on the road after a long down time.

I swear that these cars must have leaked ATF from the factory I think the goal shouldn't be to stop it, just to stem the low

Very nice looking, I envision miles of smiles.
Was there a system to you starting that old engine, or just put a battery on it and crank it?
Those leaks are from gaskets waiting to get warm, but no, year after year, they were neglected...
Oh, and if those tires are old - do not trust them. At all.

Thanks for the nice works gents. It did come out nice.
I paid $3,500 in August & put $4,500 in parts paint fluids, tire wheels & so on . Exhaust goes on next Saturday then fix the leaky transmission.

After steam cleaning twice. I changed oil filter removed all spark plugs, drained old gas, removed original batt, installed new battery got excited then hit the key to see if it was froze up. Turned over freely so I cranked for about 2 minutes to get oil pressure up . Next morning turned it over again installed plugs with 40 yr old wires poured gas in carb it lit up . Surprised me to no end. Overall this car was in good shape when it got parked.
