Advice needed 72 LT 1
I'm going to look at a 72 LT 1 coupe 4spd. According to the owner it has been disassembled, frame has been restored new bushings etc. It has a 72 LT 1 replacement engine?? not sure if he means a CE block. Does the "replacement engine" make it any less valuable from a collectors stand point? What is a fair price?

At least the vin will let you know if it was originally was an LT1 car.
IMO that helps some at least , well it would to me if I was buying . How much money I don't know . Depends on buyer. Depends on too on how much more original items are there trans , rear end, carb , intake etc...?
Special cars with rarer optional motors bring considerably more with their born with factory installed engine and transmission .
Without pics or at least long drawn out detailed description prices are hard to post or predict.
Each car has to be evaluated on an individual basis.
I would rather myself invest in a sure fire original drive train car in poor condition and restore it , than same money in a really nice LT1 with NOM .....but that's just me.
