Just bought american racing rims (need help on spacers?)
Just bought brand new rims & tires 17"x9.5" 235/55 rear & 17"x8" 215/55.
Payed 600 bucks never used.
Rear is perfect after cutting of ebrake bracket.
Front deosnt stick out far enough (not lined up with fender)
Not sure if i need 1" spacers front or 2"?
Btw car sits 2" lower in front and 3" in rear, i have jack stands under car

What is the backspace on these rims. Stock is 4 inches. These look way less. My rears are 5.5 but I run a 275 40 18 tire. My fronts are 4 inch. It's all about the offset to make them fit and look correct.

I took a ruler to the back of the rear and they were 5" i had to cut off ebrake bracket but they fit perfectly, even with fenders, i guess i will have to take of front to check.
What is the offset needed for a perfect fit?
Btw i wanted 18" rims and allot wider ( i want to auto cross ) but 600 bucks for brand new tires and wheel, i can complain.
Im posting from a cell phone sorry for bad english

I realize that the OP got a really good deal, price wise, but in all reality I don't think they're the correct wheels/tires for a C-3. Wheels aren't really the correct offset, and the tires are really "short"........

I bought a c4 cheap...like a steal many years ago, it had base Camaro 5 spokes on it where someone took the high dollar wheels it had off,
I did like the Camaro wheels better than the silly stock salad shooters but they were way too inboard of the edge of the wheel wells,
So I decided to get spacers,
I took a string and tied a nut to it making a plumb bob, I taped it to the top of the fender so the sting was right down the middle of the axle/wheel center,
I then took a ruler and measured from my string to the part of the tire I wanted at the wheel well edge, you know how radial tires budge out fatter over the foot print,
So in my case I let that budge peak past the wheel well edge,
I got the spacer off ebay, custom made to what measurement I needed, I believe that is what you were asking?
I am doing a flared 69 and when I get the rims and tires I desire "IF" the backspacing isn't just right I will do my same idea with spacers to get things just right.

AGREE. I've bought American Racing wheels. They are 18 inch wheels with 9.5 inch rims. Look in a dictionary at the definition of wheels and rims. Those big round things at each corner of your car are wheels, not rims. If you go to a public viewing point at the Grand Canyon, you'be be standing at the rim of the Grand Canyon...that's in keeping with the meaning of the word rim. We don't need to speak eubonics.

I had this car since I was 16(26 now) with no aftermarket wheels because I couldn't afford them

Sorry to hear that, and I'm sure that the people here aren't trying to needlessly bust your chops. HOWEVER, there are times when what appears to be a bargain, isn't a bargain at all. I was thinking, after I made my initial post in this discussion, that with the 5" backspacing these wheels have, unless you put a spacer in place, you won't be able to turn the wheels anywhere near "full lock", as the tires will probably hit the frame.....

I do like your wheels, have them myself. You do need the 1" spacer on the front because the backspace should be 4 ". The tires are pretty small too. A 9.5" rear wheel really needs a 275 width tire and about 26-27" diameter. The fronts need to go to 245 width. With the tires you have they are way overstretched and potentially unsafe because you are riding on the sidewall rather than the tread. That may be the profiled look you are seeking, but if you want to fill the wheel wells they need to be bigger.

Measure the front offset and order an adapter to move the wheel further out.

The tires seem to look fine and not stretched so the may not even be 8" wide. It may be a 7" wheel.

Im kicking myself in the butt now, i guess i didnt get as good of a deal as i thought.
Found marking on the rim that day the front is 17x7, and rear is 17x8.
And there not american racing they says "licensed by american racing" built by rev. , i guess i can move the rears up front and save for 18"x11 for rear
