82 CE alternate interior package?
There is a CE on fleabay at the moment with an interior color package that I hadn't seen before. It has all the "right" leather panels and panel color patterns, just in a dark grey rather than the silver/green that mine has:
Since the VIN won't give me any information (and this is only for my curiosity), is there any way to check if that was a factory option? Asking the seller won't help.. they seem to be a retailer in Florida.

Interesting. The VIN confirms the CE package; the exterior is correct: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Co...-/351256463689
Makes me wonder what happened to the interior or if it was custom ordered?
Just shot the seller an email to see if they have a clue...

I suspect that it's just the exposure of the photos. All of the colors seem off, inside and outside, including the background.
There were no optional interior colors for the Collector Edition, and Chevrolet wouldn't have provided a "custom ordered" interior. Chevrolet sometimes allowed cars to be ordered in a non recommend color combination, such as a red interior with a yellow exterior (I knew someone who ordered a 79 in that combo). But this could only be done using a regular production interior color. The Collector Edition had a unique interior design, that would require a complete custom made interior, to change the color. This is not something Chevrolet would have done.

The s/n might confirm this is a collector car, but the interior has been botched up.
I'm not sure you can make those changes with lighting..
A real CE door panel.

Must have been a PO's personal change to a darker interior. Look closely at the door pull bezels and you can see that they are still brown(ish). I did hear back from the seller and they said they 'had seen other cars with this interior' but wouldn't pony up any more info, so I'm calling bullfunky on that statement. Shame, but interesting all the same - I'll bet unless the PO that did that was an upholsterer, there's quite a bit of money in those door cards and seats.

One thing that just caught my eye... Look at the grain on the lower door panel vs the original collector panel above. See anything odd? The lower has a vinyl grain texture to it, the upper one has leather.
