My cable is broken and all the videos showing how to open your hood the hoods are already open . I can't get to the rubber grommits. To put a screwdriver through and press the release. Any ideas ? Thanks

Put the car up so you can get underneath it and reach up with something to move the latch or hook the cable.

I agree with Zoomin, but to add, have someone lightly press down on the hood while you reach up from underneath. Lightly pressing down on the hood removes tension on the latch mechanism, and makes manually engaging it easier.

So when I'm under the car and it's jacked up i will be able to see the cable ? And I hook it and pull it down ? It is a real pain.lol

I reached from the bottom I removed rocker panel and the plate that is behind front fender and then removed charcoal canister and had enough room to stick my arm and head in car to pull cable manually there is also a video on youtube for late c3 on how to do it.

After you replace your cable run another cable from the latch about 12 inches long and leave it tucked up under the hood, this way you will always have a way to trigger the latch if it ever breaks again.All you will have to do is snake the 12 in wire out and pull it.
