Who's using Lojack?
I'm looking around for a hard wired GPS tracking system that I can install in my '81. I see a Lojack kit for older model cars that can be purchased online. Who has a Lojack system installed in a C3 and how do you like it?

I have lojack the classic one with it own power source and early warning. Its pretty cool my little brother took car for a joyride with the extra set of keys i had my email cell text my wife work mom house all get a message from lojack that my car was being driven if i did not authorize to call police and they will activate but they do not offer GPS tracking for personal use. U will need another device for that but that one is cool too and they are hidden with there own power source also if youd like but they will charge a monthly or yearly fee and u get 5 to unlimited checks depending on your package and some come with kill switches u can activate online. The lojack is a 4 year first then they charge like 200 for 5 yrs and a 100 maintenance every 4 years if u like.

No the lojack guys went to the shop and installed it while car was getting engine done. They refused to install it if its not running and they don't want you around vehicle when they do the install either something about insurance purposes or protection. the gps locator is dealer install. There is a device u can buy and stash in your car that will let u periodically check on your car forgot what its called

Lojack installer did mine in my garage. I watched him do the complete install and he even asked me to suggest locations in the car. I chose a spot inside the console but there are probably better locations.

Really easy to find and remove also. is a black box about 4'' or 5'' long with a power and ground hookup, that's it. I find them all the time working on cars at the dealership.

This subject is not without emotion, but the simple fact is too many cases if a car is targeted to be stolen it will be, in my case with the c3 I pay for enough insurance that if stolen I can build another,
Same with me vw trike,

I live in a pretty good 'hood lol, it's moving up not down, why I wanna move out more country but about a mile away is a labor pool place, and sometimes about once in 18 months the bums and hobos come down our street busting windows and taking just easy to flip stuff,
I almost think safelite pays them off...lol,
I always freaked people out leaving the doors unlocked on any vette in the driveway, but the method to my madness works, the bad guys open my door see nothing worth taking and in some cases just lightly close the door, but they haven't busted my glass yet....I did that myself, whole other stupid story....

When they first started the lojack thing, theives would steal the car and park it on some side street. They would let it sit there for a day or two. If no one showed up for the car, they figured it either didn't have lojack or it wasn't working. I alway thought that if someone wants something bad enough, he'll figure a way to get it.

I listen the my police scanner a lot and rarely here calls for stolen cars equipped with low jack. It take 3 cop cars with the locators to find the stolen car. Listening to these law men trying to find the stolen car is amuzing because the signal varies so much they cant get a very good location. This low jack system ties up too many cops that consider car theft a petty crime. I would not have one in my car just for that reason.
