Default Rear speaker system 73 coup

This is what I came up with for a rear speaker/ amp setup on my 73. Kind of a hybrid of all the systems I have seen on this site.
Not done yet. Still working on it. Part of my entire interior overhaul.

Just had to subscribe. Had some thoughts on something like this. Your plan roozster, I like it, I won't be going with an amp, but the speaker mount, good planning. Keep us up to date. T

Love to see that installed! I like the speakers angled like that, to maximize the storage space. I`d also be curious if the T-tops will still fit in the back.

with oldgto.
I like where your going with this install.
I'm no where near installing a speaker system in my car yet but I was eyeballing the rear area to do a speaker install, after I had remove the carpeting and also removed all the glue off the fiberglass in the rear compartment.
Your set up is looking great so far.
One question, what are you using for your black floor carpet? Parts of floor carpeting sections? Thanks.

I measured and it looks like there will be enough room for t tops with an inch to spare.

I ordered the carpets from ACC and ordered extra bulk carpet.

Got to spend a few hours on the Vette this morning.
got the Fat mat in the rear section and coated the storage area with Herculiner.

Looking good so far! I also used FatMat, then reflectix over that. I had to pull a little of the jute backing off the carpet to get the loops for the t-top strap back in though.

Put the heat barrier down over the Fatmat. Installed the rear wall and cut and fit the wheel well carpet. What a Beeotch! Kills your back leaning into that small compartment. Will get the 6x9 speaker corners in soon.

Got the wall and 6x9's in. I love it. Will be a while before I can fire it up. need to install the storage compartment then work forward to the dash and kick panel speakers. Will post pics of that ASAP.

Yes the t-tops fit with 2" to spare

Drivers front kick panel speaker in. Working on pass side.

Still have a long way to go. Fatmat, then sound and heat shield, carpet, the new seats I just recovered, re-install the rear window and put it all back together.

Looks great. I will starting the same project, hopefully, in the next couple of weeks if the weather holds up!

Got the same powered sub for my set up (rockville 10" right? ). Already cut kicks for front speakers and need to remove the dash for the dash speakers. I assume you removed the dash....how was it??

Great job on the carpet as well. Looking forward to more pictures and opinions!

No big deal on the dash. Took the map pockets out and the center console. Then the screws on the dash. Lifted the dash pad up enough to do the drivers speaker and the pass was a piece of cake.
