Identifying my Dads Corvette from family photo
Hello,
I'm new to forum and have a question about the Corvette my Dad once owned. For years I only had one family photo of car and I knew car was either a 68 or 69. I was not quite two years old when photo was taken in 1970 and I was standing in front of the door lock/push button identifying part of car, and no other critical parts of car were showing...
I just received a second photo from my Uncle that was unknown for 20 years... This photo is more telling: no stingray above the four vents, clear front sidemarkers, and fairly visible that it has push button doors...so its a 1968...
Here is the question : its a dark green original paint ,427 base motor car, but has TAN/SADDLE interior with what appears to be Headrests!!! My research shows GREEN 68's could only come with black interiors??
Could it be a 1968 built late with a 69 interior option?
Thanks ,
Mike Winebrenner
Long shot , but this car was traded in at a car shop called Grand Prix Motors in Louisville KY in summer of 1970---where is it now

I believe headrests were an add on option in '68. Not sure on the interior color options based on exterior color. I do know that, at one point in its life, my dad's '68 was green with saddle interior. But his was born red on red.

Saddle (tan) interior became available late in 68 production. Headrests were an available option for the 68s. The buyer had to order them and they cost an addtional $42.15.
The base engine was the 327/300hp L-75 small block. All 427s were optional.

No, no, no--you're taking this all wrong--it was out of love and commitment to family!
We all know how these cars can suck the life out of a checking account.
If you're looking, I hope you find it---but you have been warned.

I have your car!! My 68 was originally green (now yellow) with a saddle interior, 427ci/390hp, am/fm radio, power brakes, and A/C (my have been added) w/a 4-speed trannie. I picked it up about 15 years ago in Phoenix AZ from a college student. Know nothing else about it. Hugh

My friends had a '70 coupe and an infant when I met him in '83. They took him with them everywhere in the rear parcel compartment. Their son is 34 now and they still have the '70.

Ahh I remember my sister and I riding in the back of my dad's '82 collectors edition as kids. Up until he added the '75 vert to the stable and mom drove one and dad drive the other with one kid in each. What a childhood.
