Default 79 Dark Blue interior color choice help

My recently acquired 79 is painted in Corvette Dark Blue, and also has the dark blue interior, which I just don't like. I plan on keeping the exterior color the same, but I want to change up the interior. I either want to go with red (stock color) or go with the bright blue interior color from a 68-70 (Code 41). There is a link to a pic of that color interior below, scroll through the pics to the shots of the interior.

Corvette America is able to supply me seat covers and carpet in the code 41 bright blue color, and the rest of the interior will be dyed to match. I have always loved this color, but my question is, would it look ok with the dark blue exterior? For that matter, would the red look ok with the dark blue? The car looks black unless it is sunny out, it is a very deep blue... Opinions appreciated. I am going for a mild resto-mod, so stock color does not really matter to me.

i'd go with any shade of blue or black and avoid the red.

I agree, avoid the red. The bright blue interior from 68-70 is one of the all-time best interior colours. I see the occaisional blue car with a red interior, I assume there must be at least a few people who like that but I think most people think it looks terrible and this is why its rarely seen.

I have the same car. I love the blue with dark blue interior. If you want to sell any of the dark blue interior pieces let me know.

I'm definitely leaning more towards the bright blue. I didn't know how the red would look with the blue, you are all helping me to make my decision easier...

ANY shade of red would NOT go with a dark blue exterior. You might like it, but no one else will (and it would be VERY hard to sell).

I don't think the bright blue interior would look that good with it either. I had a '68 coupe with International Blue exterior (med/dark metallic) and Bright Blue interior and loved that color combo. Still don't think it would look that good with a Dark blue ext.

I would recommend a light or medium saddle colored interior for your car. White interior would look 'stark' and be hard to keep clean. Grey interior would look "cold". And, I think a black interior would make the combo a very dark one. You need a lighter color of interior to jazz up the dark exterior a bit.

Any other opinions? After some research I do see that the red interior WAS available with the dark blue exterior in 79. Does anyone have any pics of this? I am starting to like the idea of the medium saddle interior as well. But the blue interior still would be my first choice I think. I'd love to hear more feedback and see pics of your dark blue c3 interiors
.. Thanks everyone!

You will find C3 photos by typing "Corvette C3" in Google...once there you will find interior pics of the color combination you are looking for....I think the light blue with your exterior dark blue will be an excellent choice...Good Luck!

My '79 is also dark blue metallic #83 and my interior code is 122 which is "Oyster". I like the contrast very much but bright blue would look good too.
