Looks like it will only fit in a truck without cutting a hole in the hood.

It's been around for a while. LS based block but yes 454 is doable in these. Nice motor but a lot of dollars also. Put a blower on a LS3 and with some work you can get that power for about 1/2 the cost. Still would like one though. I'd ditch the carb for fuel Injection

That's just what I was thinking. Besides being pricy it looks like it will challenge the room under just about any hood.

Just happened to see this same engine in a TV show 30 minutes ago. They were showing the sema show in las vegas and this 454 LSX motor was in a resto-mod Reggie Jackson camaro he had there.
He hooked up with GM to put that motor in his car. Different intake though it looked like.
They said it was the #1 (first) LSX motor in his car.
Just saying.

Hey, what a great investment idea. Put that engine in my '80 and I might get $15,000.00 for her.

I was at SEMA for that unveil and yes a much lower carb base on the manifold. IMCO that install was to make the LSX look like it belonged in that '69 Camaro engine compartment in the 1st place.
