I played around with a servoless retract from a 1/4 scale RC plane but although fairly quick didn't really have enough power to reliably work.
Sticking with vacuum until I get bored again (should be any day now....) but really too many other little things are on the burner so to speak

Hi Bruce and Richard.
What is the “throw” of the wiper door arm? I know you guys drilled out mechanism to remove the existing threaded rod and fit the clevis and attach to the motor.
I’m thinking of a mini linear actuator to fit inside the housing next to the wiper arm switch. What wiper arm switch are you using?
Has anyone thought of this route?
Rick
PS. Adding my electric headlights this weekend

There are several that have used the linear actuators- as Bruce said- just too slow...And they take up a bunch of space
I had a little bit less than 2½" for total travel.
here's a link for the switch used-

Sorry for all the questions.
I did find a faster linear actuator. should open/close in about 1.5 seconds.

Thanks Richard. I have the parts. For the limit switch, which set of pins did you use(NO or NC)? Another question. Where did you mount your relay?

In my first post of this thread I included a simple wiring diagram of how I wired up this conversion; if you are doing this exact same conversion you should refer to that drawing.
As for the control relay, I mounted that inside the car along with the PWM controller behind the passenger side dash pad.

I didn’t realize I would need three relays. So, buying two more waterproof relays.
Is the red fused wire constant 12v? Where would you suggest connecting the red 12v feed?
Rick.
