Side pipe question

All depends on how you tune them...'69 style? Glass Pack? Chambered? Or Hookers? With STS Baffles? With Reverse Flow? With Max Flow? Many options.
You can make them mild or wild, depending on many different options.
Very generally speaking, "mild" will restrict flow (rob horsepower)...perhaps even more than using nice mufflers out of the back. But look cool.
And "wild" will allow free flow (even/add horsepower) versus nice mufflers, but will make you re-think that 300 mile trip to the mountains with your wife. But look cool.
Choices, choices. Add more info and we can help more.

DWD.....how about the statements below in bold?
With my very limited knowledge of sidepipes.....that sounds like a question that I would ask.
Let's say only one type of sidepipe was designed for a 1967 C2.....and only one type was designed for a 1968 C3......both vehicles with the 327 cu.in. engines (same H.P.).
Would the C2 sidepipes sound as loud as the C3 sidepipes?

The C2's were chambered exhaust and they are a bit louder than the stock C3 side exhaust. My C3 has the stock style mufflers from Sweet Thunder and are a bit LOUD!
When I start the car in the garage it rattles the pictures on the walls in the house.

I may be slightly prejudice.
BTW, mine are a LOT LOUDER! I'm about deaf (years of B52s, 141s, and HDs) so it doesn't matter. Have a great week, Bill

Rookie question.........Do the C2 pipes have more ground clearance than the C3 sidepipes in the style shown above.
They look good!

I'm thinking about installing a pair of C3 side pipes on my 66. Right now i have a under the car with full length headers and turn downs at the mufflers. The rear panel is for a side exhaust car with no exhaust holes. I have a set of C3 pipes with the inlets cut off at the muffler. I have the c2 covers and i think i could modify them to fit the c3 pipes. Just haven't decided which way i want to go.

I don't know how you could modify the C2 covers to fit the C3 mufflers. The chambered C2 mufflers are a lot thinner than the C3's.
