Default Rear Wheel Bearing Spindle Support

I took my rear spindle assemblies in to the local shop a month or so ago to press out the spindles. The guy there told me that they had done them lots of times. Ya.. right... Well I finally got them back after them having them for 4 weeks and I'm ticked. Firstly I asked them to make sure they put the left and the right side parts separate and second to make sure all the parts were returned when I got them. So I picked them up... everything in one box and.. the owner told me that one of the Caliper mounting brackets was broken when they got it.. It certainly wasn't and he was nice enough to weld it up for me.. Well.. it is welded for sure but doesn't sit flat on the spindle support. It is warped.
So couple questions.. How do I determine what spindle support is driver side and which is passenger side? They both look the same. One is stamped GM 27 and the other GM 29. I'll have to determine which side is which before I determine which caliper mount I need to replace.

Thanks

Hi K,
You're in luck …. it's easy
Each spindle has 2 'legs' with a hole in them for the strut rod mount.
One hole has a 'flat' in it and should be toward the rear of the car.
Regards,
Alan

I have some extra caliper brackets once you determine which side you need...

That would be wonderful. I'll let you know tonight.

Thanks

It is the Driver Side bracket that needs replacing. I'll send you a PM with my address. Please let me know the total cost with shipping. I can Paypal you immediately if that works.

Thanks again

Paul
