I have seen it delt with a few different ways. by removing the ends and threading the holes and putting 90 deg elbows. I'm working on making a plate that will bolt onto where the inlets are now and redirects it to the rear where I will connect the hoses.

Neat. If I end up needing to do that, I would be interested in buying a replica of said plate.

Water pump mod to clear the A arms.

For vintage AC I would recommend the new holley bracket for a high passenger side Sanden compressor mount.
If your PS pulley interferes on drives side, you can swap a smaller GM CTS-V pulley.

Hey Gary,

Where did you get that?! Awesome!

As for the AC: Holley or Kwik should work.

Thanks!

The heater hose fittings can be removed by rocking them while pulling.
The holes are perfect size for NPT taps (3/8 & 1/2" IIRC). Then just get some right angle adapters from Summit, Sears hardware, etc.
I've got the Kwik compressor bracket and seen the Holley installed. Get the holley.

Thanks, Gary. Great info. Which LS engine and tranny did you swap? Mind if I ask you some more questions?

I'm running a 6.0 LQ9 with an LS1 intake. Richmond 6 speed, Vintage Air, in my 68 convertible. Stock puts out about 400hp. Your 500hp LS7 would be great fun.
Also running a 5.3 L59 with a 4 speed T10 with Classic Auto Air in my 72 Olds as a daily driver.
Ask away.

Hey Gary,

Where did you get your engine mounts and adapters from? What offset did you use?
What oil pan did you use?
How did you set up your fuel pump?
What did you do for air intakes?

I went to VIR for the first time today in my 01. Wow! Can't wait to do it in my 69! My 69 will be around 600HP at the flywheel with a good intake, stepped headers, and a tune.

Default T-56 in 68

I had minimal problems putting a T-56 in my 68. The forward U-joint hit, requiring a bit of trimming. Had to fabricate a cross member, of course. My biggest problem has been getting the 68 chassis to handle 544 hp without requiring a change of underwear (400 ci Dart block, Accel DFI fi (mistake), AFR heads).

I tried the 1" setbacks, but the 621 bell was rattling against the tunnel of the sagging body. I ended up with this type and solid motor mounts.

I'm running an 02 Z06 vette batwing pan.

Fuel pup (Walbro external 255 inline) and vet fuel filter/regulator are mounted inside the rear passenger side frame rail.
I swapped the LQ9 truck intake for an LS1. For the intake tubing, I made a filter housing that sits on top of the intake.
No where else to go on mine.
