Illustrating the fact that a non-numbers matching, but date correct LS6 engine is a hurdle that can be overcome.

Here's where to look for the TI.

Or there may just be holes where it used to be.

Actually there are approximately 105 factory optioned LS6 Corvettes accounted for presently.

Checked the inboard differential u-joints. They appear to be caps not u-bolts.

No ignition module though, nor any holes.

VIN is 194371S115133

Trim tag is I20, which is April 20th I believe.

So in summary here is where we are:

2 fuel lines running the length of the car
6500 rpm redline tach
Caps not U-bolts on the diff.
No sign of a pulse amplifier
No Big Block hood.
Birthday is April 20th, 1971

SO:
2 fuel lines running the length of the car (non-LT1 car)
6500 rpm redline tach (LS6 but can be painfully changed)
Caps not U-bolts on the diff. (Big block - already ruled out LT1 above)
No sign of a pulse amplifier (bad news)
No Big Block hood. (non-indicator - easily changed)
Birthday is April 20th, 1971 (correct date range for LS6)

Perhaps the front end was wrecked and the hood+wheel well replaced?
Would also explain missing ignition decal at fire wall.
Check then for the TI wiring harness (see #4 in above LS6 AIM sheet).

  2. It has a radiator overflow tank
Can you post a pic of the radiator?

and my silver was 44 back on 4-2-15, at work now and don't have the VIN with me......sorry!
three of us in April, must have been a good time for LS6's getting built back in 71.
I have now had it for the last 23 years.

Not a very good picture but I assume the TI wiring harness should be in this vicinity.

Here is a radiator pic.

Lol! Bubba hacked up the fan shroud I assume when he put the 327 in. That little critter scared the **** out of me last night when I opened the hood.

Wow, so you have the optional coon-cooler - definitely a LS6 only option.

Looks like the stock big block radiator.
The fan shroud and fan came from another planet.
Can't make out anything from the wire/harness photo.
If it's in there you should be able to see the TI plug just forward of the radiator.

Fred,
Are there LS6 specific details that are cooling related. Like aluminum expansion tank, radiator material, etc.?

Nope, it's just a big block.
The expansion tank plus copper radiator is what you get.
