Default 1969 454

I have been told that it was possible to get a 454 in a late 1969 Vette. Is this true?

No. They were not in Corvettes until 70.

Not in an unmodified car.

Hi LT-!,
That's quite a startling revelation.
I'm curious who you heard that from.

Alan

I have been putzing with vettes over 30 years never heard once of a 454 tri power coming in any corvette....

I wouldnt however be shocked IF a some dealer took a new 69 and dropped in a then new 454...Motion did that type stuff to new cars BUT that is dealer NOT factory.

"Dealer Options" We would all be amazed at what they did over the years when the right amount of money was thrown at them. After that it was just a fish story and it gets bigger on the trip home and to work the next day.

Not from the factory. All factory-installed engines would have required EPA approvals. The 454 did not get approved for 1969, but for 1970-1974.
