Default Corvette Sump???

I have just installed my BluePrint engines 383 and transmission in my 79 body, however I have run into a small problem. The steering relay rod is hitting slightly on the sump. Can anyone tell me if the corvette sump is slightly different to a standard 350 SBC sump? The car has been converted to RHD (Australia) so it is either as a result of that or the sump is slightly different.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Colin

I meant chassis, not body. Sorry.

Does your 383 have a stock oil pan?

I am assuming it does Mike. It is the oil pan which came with the engine from BluePrint. Unfortunately I sold my old motor (wasn't original but a crate motor from Mexico according to the engine stamp) so I am unable to compare the oil pans.

to answer your question not all SBC pans fit the Corvette chassis.
