I have trial fitted my Flowtech headers to my 383 SBC in my 79 and found there isn't a great deal of clearance to the oil filter (K&N HP-3002) . I have about 1/2" clearance. Do you think this is enough? I could maybe fit a heat shield or get the slightly shorter filter (K&N HP-2002). Does heat soak from the headers cause an issue?
