Default To paint or not to paint firewall

Question
Does the firewall on a 70 get painted or left natural black fiberglass ?
Thanks Wes

The firewall got 'blackout' paint....semi-flat or satin black paint. But, if you have A/C, the fiberglass A/C plenum was left unpainted.

Hi Wes,
I believe that typically the just the truly 'vertical' part of the firewall received black-out.
It was painted to about where the 'bend' for the toe boards and transmission tunnel began.
In a way this was true for the fender aprons too. The paint was applied to the surfaces that faced the engine but faded as the they curved outward to the fenders.
Regards,
Alan

Your choice. Do you want to paint it or are after a factory appearance? FWIW: if you see black on fiberglass under the hood, it's probably paint.
