I'm ready- car is getting there!!!
Last year I did the Longhaul and will do it again this year.
Driving up from Atlanta -starting Friday morning- end up in Madison, WI on Saturday- then do the full haul to Baton Rouge- About 2800 miles in my 73.
Planning for some heat in the deep south - So I put in heat barrier last night.
Also adjusted the wipers- new blades because will probably see some rain this year-

Oil change and finish waxing it out & she's ready!!!

Last year on the road-one of the small towns we passed through- had spectators waving you on-

Even stopping for gas was like going to a Car Show!

We have a small group or 3 or 4 cars leaving Atlanta on Monday and headed to Memphis. We will do 3 stops to Biloxi and then head back home.
Will most likely be in my 71 again this year. Last year we literally lowered if off the lift after getting the LS3 installed and immediately hit the Power Tour with zero test miles. Needless to say, it was a bit miserable doing all the fine tuning on the road. Hoping for a good trip this year!

Don't let the wet blankets who say c3's can't be good daily drivers catch wind of this....
I get flashback visions of care free high school day dreaming of Gumball rally and Cannonball run,
Fun and camaraderie stamps out pretense and douchebaggery
As I drift back to reality I would so love to do this perhaps next year.
Please guys as it unfolds post lots of pictures for us armchair supporters...

In the past I've traveled with C5/C6's on these HRPT's. Somebody is always nice enough to haul one of my luggage bags in their HUGE trunks.
for getting that '71 on the road.

While my c3 is still out of commission I may grab my z06 and show up at the last meet. It ends right near my house for once.
If any CF members want to meet up after.

Wife and I are planning on doing the long haul this year (first time) We should have the seats recovered by then end of the week and then change the oil fix some little stuff and get ready to head to Madison! I'll be keeping an eye (and a camera out) for other C3's... and if you see this bucket of bolts:
You found me

You guys/gals on the tour are welcome to email me -as I've been getting a list together of fellow C3 owners on the tour- for meeting up and hopefully not needed help on the road!!!

My buddy is driving a El Camino and will have more tools than Spicoli's father!!
Hey Bats-
My 73 that I bought last year one month before the Power Tour ( that's why I bought it!!!) The PO had put 1200 miles on it in 12 years- I surpassed that the 3rd day on the tour-and a couple of other trips, put almost 6000 miles on it in a the first year!!!
Staying in hotels that have laundry to minimize clothes and also bought some smaller chairs!!!
And I'll throw this up for the first timers- There are a LOT of cars-sitting in traffic happened last year.
After a disaster traffic jam in Charleston WV-We quickly adjusted our schedule to get to the venues early!!!
Here's the route-

Here's a pic of my '72 I'll be in this year. If all goes to plan, I should be traveling with the C5 in the background. Hope to see you all someplace along the Tour.

I'll be spending the day in Madison on Saturday the 6th, I live about an hour and a half south along the route to Champaign, so I may go up Sunday and cruise with the group heading south. If there are any breakdowns, I have a lift in my garage and can help any of you guys that need it, either on the way up or back. I e-mailed Richard 454 my number, he can e-mail it out to all of you that ask, I'd rather not post it here though.

I actually work right off beach blvd. in Gulfport and live between Gulfport and Baton Rouge. Have to work as saving vacation for cruising the coast this year. I will stop in after work Thursday though. Will PM Richard my number should anyone need anything I can provide should the unexpected come up. Also button up the hatches, the rain has been horrible. Hopefully will pass.

All,
I hope you all have a great time. My 71 vert won't ready in time.
We've done the tour a few times. Fantastic most of the time. Last year in WS Dells was horrible. Really brings home the need for a heavy duty cooling system.
And as my wife would remind me and a good bit of patience.
I'm near Alexandria MN. If someone needs help PM me.
Again have great and safe trip.

That's why I am making sure my wipers are finely adjusted and windshield Rainx coated- can't be this lucky two years in a row!!!
We're staying at the Residence Inn in Gulfport and the Towne Place Suites in Baton Rouge...And might check out Dino's Salvage on the route back home.
I did cruising the coast a couple years ago- It was incredible the number of cars there!!!
They was a neat eatery in Gulfport- BBQ- had some killer sweet potato fries and had live bands in the evening-can't remember the name but was a block or so off the beach...

Ummm- OK - there really is a "slap ya momma's BBQ"
That wasn't it but we might have to check that out!!!
When I was there (2013) they had over 7K registered- but on the weekend there was at least a thousand or more that didn't register!! We came down for a long weekend and had to stay way out at Moss point!!!
