UPDATE 11/20/2015
Hi guys,
The car is almost done. I'd say a few more weeks. We sent the paperwork to Joel Rosen. He received it the day we called him to verify he got it. He advised at first glance, he could assure us that at the very least the parts used to modify the car were in fact his. He did not specifically recall the car, but wanted to do more research. So...at this point, at the least we have a mail order Motion according to Rosen...update to follow with pictures. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!!

It just seems that the word "Motion" is used a lot as in desiring it to be and nothing wrong with that, lots of cars were made to look that way back then and many were from that area.
And while I said outfits still sell some of the parts my point was the parts were at many shops back in the day.
For example the mako was invented and sold by silva long before motion sold it and made it more "seen" due to the centerfold ads motion ran in most all car rags of the day but every mako didnt come from motion.
All documented phase 3 cars did come from motion but the parts to build them were not unique to motion.
In this case of your stunning car I would believe that the parts likely came from Motion or one of the venders they farmed their glass out to, you would not be the first person to tell me their glass in your case "IF" it is theirs is low quality.
I cant recall the members name but one cat here said after spending like 2K All he got from Motion was a poster.
Please do not let that custom parts history diatribing of mine subtract from the fact of how stunning a build and saving of an old school custom you guys did...

Now years later it would seem not so many people are tossing $$$ at motion or that prince.
I do not blame a person to desire a lightening strike and hit a lucky jackpot on their car just seems the odds are better in a casino than trying to document a motion car.....

Hi guys,
Some may recall a thread I posted a while back on a 68 my friend and I dragged out of a city warehouse. It was a real mess. My friend properly restored and reinstalled all the original parts as we found them. My friend (a one-man show 75 yr old ex-drag racer) is restoring it. He advised he had one heck of a time bringing the original modifications up to his standards. The frame an cage were SUPER.
I mentioned before, we did not believe the car came from Baldwin originally, and the original modifications are still being researched. The "story" was the work was done at Motion, and the car was purchased elsewhere near Baldwin. We did have good information the car was originally (one owner - orig owner now deceased) from Brooklyn. The NCRS Data Report confirmed the car was originally delivered in the Spring of 68 to Luby Chevrolet, (near Brooklyn).
Anyhow, here are some pictures of the progress. The paint has a little more polishing to go but the body drop is really soon. When we found the car it was white with a red stripe. Under that, he found it was maroon with a white stripe, so that's what we went back to. He found some nice 68 doors to put back on, as well as a different (orig) Motion hood. The one that came on the car appears to have been used on real Motion cars, but we decided we liked this one better. He doesn't really care if it is a "real" Motion car anyway. We just think it's a cool car. This is an AC car as well.
Thanks and stay safe, John
