Default how to tell original engine in 1972 corvette

Okay so I'm sort of new to the while corvette scene. I know most things but not all. Is there anyway I can find out what engine option my 72 vette came with. (has a 400 in it right now) so obviously not the original engine. just curious. Thank you in advance for your response

Actually, 1972 was the first year you could tell what engine your Corvette came with. By looking at the 5th digit of the V.I.N. Number.
If it is a "K" it's a 350 cu/in 200hp
If it is a "L" it's a 350 cu/in 255hp (LT-1)
If it is a "W" it's a 454 cu/in 270hp

Regards
Roy
