Wiper wiring
This should be an easy one. The PO butchered the wiring on this car and I'm trying to set it to rights. For the windshield wiper motor, the wiring diagram I have shows 4 wires. I have a plug with 4 wires (not plugged into anything) right by the wiper motor. Granted, 2 of the wires are cut off... But the motor just has 2 black wires coming out (with no plug). Is the motor wrong or is the wiring diagram wrong, or am I missing something?

Also, I assume the vacuum connections are for the wiper door and can be left off (all that is missing on mine).

Yes the vacuum connections you see are for the wiper door and headlights and don't need to be in place for the motor to work.

The differences between the 68 wiper motor wiring circuit and the 69 is mind boggling. I wanted to change mine about 35 years ago and gave up on the idea. And please be aware that the GM "electrical engineers" in all of their wisdom of wiring millions of cars beforehand, control the 68 wiper motor by disconnecting the GROUND!!! Not the hot. The 68 wiper motor is always hot, even with the key off and out of the car. Many 68's have shorted and burned up because of this. I have a disconnect switch on my battery, because of this fact. I have had my coupe for 43 years next month. Lou.

Oh Boy A '68 wiper motor
you need to contact Ernie at Willcox Corvette. Especially his video on how to bench test your motor. This test will show you if it is working properly and more important HOW it works.
I've spent many an hour working on mine.
Another member to talk to is DZRick.
