Default Dual dual exhaust

Hi so this is my first time posting and I'm hoping someone finds this and can help me

I have a 1980 corvette with stock exhaust but I want side exhaust but I also want to have the choice of loud or quiet so is it possible to have straight piped side exhaust and my regular exhaust and control which one I use by a electronic cut out??

I would say it's possible with stock manifolds or shorty headers. with long tube headers it would be tough.

Cheap and the right way are contradictory statements:

You can do the sound very easily and neatly with what you have. There are things called "Exhaust Cutouts." Google search that. They are valves on your exhaust pipes so you can dump the exhaust before the mufflers. Some people use them for more power. Definitely more sound. Can be electrically controlled so at a push of a button you are loud and push back muffled.

Would pass any type of emissions test because you have it inspected with them closed.

C6 and C7 Corvettes have those they call "Mild to Wild" for similar control of exhaust.

On sidepipes would you place the cutouts between the four into one slip joint? I think the "SweetThunder" muffler inserts sit right up at that joint..
