Hello Everyone,
I would like to thank everyone for helpful information. I have been using your site as a reference tool, while I renew my recently purchased C3. So far I have replaced the Brake hoses, lines, rotors, calipers and pads. I replaced the parking brake components as well. I rebuilt the vaccum headlight system after reading here the pros and cons of converting the system to electric. I replaced one door handle thus far and have the 2nd handle ready to install. I have an Intellitronix digital gauge system, which I sent out to be refreshed, but in the mean time i recently purchased a new set of Intellitronix gauges (7 gauges) because the refreshed set were taking to long to be finished. I dropped and replaced the gas tank, sender unit and hoses. I will probably regret not replacing the fuel lines as well, however the lines looked good and seem to be a real joy to change while the body is on the car. I bought an after market Bluetooth, dvd, cd radio and a new power antenna which I will be installing shortly with my new gauges. The vette apparently has a crate motor installed which has the code 3965775 on it. The motor is very clean and chromed out. I am planning to be up and running with in the next week or so. I have owned a 1986 C4 in the past. I truely always wanted a C3 as I love her lines. I live in New Jersey and plan on driving the Vette when ever mother nature allows. I am not a mechanic, however I mechanically inclinded and am always up too the challenge of finishing a job and learning where I can. I plan on going over the power windows system so that I will not have any issues once I am on the road. I will do my best to contribute to your site where I can, and look forward to the expert advise from my fellow Corvette owners. Thanks ...... Bill

Nice write up . Sound like a true corvette man . You bought it for all the right reason ...it's a fun hobby and sounds like your going to have a great time.
I too owned a 79 BlK L82 4 sp...back in 1981 . It was my third corvette by then ......still one of the top three corvettes I've owned . Don't know if it was luck or great tuners that helped me . But it was very fast for an L82 . No smog tests back then in my state anyway... , put 74 L82 style straight exhaust , no pump, retuned the engine more timing and carb by local dirt track guys . It would haul the mail for a corvette at that time.

Hello and welcome fellow NJ C3 owner. What part of Jersey do you call home? I'm at The Shore so if you are in the area I hope to see you cruising locally! Good luck and have fun!

You gotta love a 79 L-82, however I MIGHT be a little biased! Blue is my favorite color too. Mine is black with red interior. I look forward to seeing and learning more about yours.
