Zbar mounting 75
I'm converting my auto to a 4 speed and will need to have the zbar mounted (welded). What is the procedure? Thanks

This is basic common sense...not meaning to be a jerk.
Have the clutch/brake pedal assembly already installed.
Connect the PUSH ROD that goes through the firewall to the clutch pedal. make sure it is CORRECTLY installed on the stud of the clutch pedal for correct spacing as designed.
Install the nuts and stud fitting that slides onto the push rod that will connect to one of the arms of the Z-bar.
Install the pivot ball stud in the block. slide on the Z-bar ( which has been correctly and completely assembled. Install the bracket you need to weld in place. Pull out on the Z-bar AWAY from the block and connect the stud form the push rod. THIS will allow you to make sure that the push rod is correctly coming out of the firewall and your Z-bar is perpendicular to the engine.
MARK the frame.....grind and prep it for welding...then tack weld in the bracket and check to make sure it is correct...then weld it in.
