Thank you Andy.I appreciate it. One day a lot of movement, next day not so much, next day off I go again. Winter is coming and with it will come the focus as well.

Thanks again.

Where did you get your Dynomat from? Does it stick good to clean surface?
Thanks

Hi Wes. I bought my die cut kit from Summit Racing. You can purchase directly from Dynomat but they give a good discount to Summit and Summit shipped it to me for free.

Best regards,

David

Awesome build - great detail. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. If this isn't a sticky, it should be.

I apologize for not posting here more frequently. Since my last post on the 17th I have 1) Sold my 1971 Green on Green Sparty; 2) Purchased a very low mileage 2010 Grand Sport 3LT; 3) My wife went through shoulder surgery and is now recovering at home; and 4) I have sold off a great deal of "space occupying parts" to get my garage in good working order for the winter.

That said I do have some news to report on the racer. ALL exterior labels and emblems, trim and fixtures have arrived now and assembling the exterior can begin whenever I am ready.

All the interior parts have been sorted out and now I have everything I need to finish the interior.

All the engine bay parts have been sorted out and now I have everything I need to finish up the engine.

So I guess the only holdup now is time, and that is making itself available starting Wednesday and onward.

Expect more updates soon as the winter sets in and my project heads forward.

Best regards to you all,

David Howard

(NOTE: Side numbers are being removed and increased in size substantially. I opted to leave the front and rear numbers alone, they are scaled correctly. Decals include Champion; Sunoco; Hooker Headers; Holley; Falcon Racing; and Dow Corning Fiberglas. Stay tuned for updates.

External assembly begins Wednesday. I cannot wait.

Cheers.

Boy David, I bet the new addition is a fun ride. Looks very nice. Yes the door numbers being larger will really set it off. Really nice!

I hear you Gordon, but everyone pretty well knows me by that name now, so I think I will keep it, at least for now.

Have a good trip tomorrow.

I am going to replace the door numbers with new ones I just received. Same number, new larger size. All the other emblems are in now as well so will get about placing them soon. Need to get cracking on the pedal assembly next, then A/C and interior panels. Working on custom door panels now, hope they turn out well. Fall back is standard door panels.
Lower left dash is pretty well done now and gauges look great, cannot wait to get them installed and functional. Engine bay coming soon.

Lots to do.

I removed the numbers on the driver and passenger doors today. Have larger size to install tomorrow. The labeling begins tomorrow as well, and the outside trim, then we head to the interior.

Hi David, is that a C2 grill in the front?

Yes, from a 65. Cut into two pieces to change the angle, powder coated black, then a custom center section added. Looks more "Shark-Like". You like it?

I think that anytime you can take a part from another year and make it blend this well you have succeeded! The only problem is that you'll have guys like me asking ... "is that a ...." all the time.

Yes I do like it, it fits very well in your overall design. My tilt needs a grill but I have been struggling on what to do with it, the issue I have is the grill mounted head lights.

Happy Merry to you and yours.

Dave,
Post up a picture here when you can and maybe we can bounce some ideas around. Can't hurt.

Funny how hard it is to get a good picture of the matte black trim on the car. Here I have installed the driver side grille and working on the lower trim that will sit behind the side pipes.

I removed the "72" from the door as it was too small and now have the larger one to install along with the other emblems. Soon.

I also got my kerosene heater up and running to take the chill off the room, have it vented for fresh air when it is lit. The wall of parts is in place now with rolling racks. Behind the wall is the GS up on the lift stored for winter, and below is the 350Z which is also stored for winter.
Behind the cars are the snow thrower and the generator, both ready for service when needed. Winter is coming.

My winter working den is ready.

I agree that the bigger numbers will look better.

I went to plug in my kerosene torpedo heater the other to work on my daily and found out it wont light. So now I have to work in the cold to fix my heater! One of these days I will live where its warm!
