Default Manual Override Switch for headlights 78 model

Anyone have a pic of this switch showing the location on a 78? Trying to figure out what the PO has done because it appears there is not s switch on there or I am not looking in correct location.

Hi n,
It should be JUST TO THE LEFT OF CENTER under the steering column.
Regards,
Alan

The ONE ON THE LEFT in these pictures.

Your 78 will only have one pull down switch there where Alan has two plus a ****. Yours will look like an odometer reset shaft with a rubber cap. You pull down to open the doors without turning on the lights. The car will have to be running to build up vacuum before it will work.

Come on folks!
I just added emphasis to my original post.
If I didn't post the pictures he might think it's the trip reset ****.
If he can't understand the words in my post and the pictures I posted I've been wasting my time, and a lot of other folks time, for the last 9+ years!
Hells Bells!!!! To say it looks like the trip reset is stretching it!

He didn't even know where it was or how it worked. I don't know why you would get upset when someone else tries to help. The first time I looked under the dash on a 78, I thought it was a trip reset. Your picture shows a pre 73 if he goes in looking for those three *****, he won't find them. And you edited and added "the one on the left" long after I posted to try to clarify for him. Of all the things to get riled about on this forum, this one is way down the list.

I added the capital letters, the verbiage was there from the beginning.
I'm finished.

Calm down everyone...it's all good. Thanks for the quick replies. Well it looks like Bubba has struck again. I have attached some pics so I could explain why I was not sure the location. Its not there, its gone.... I guess Bubba bypassed the override for some reason, the line between the override and the headlight switch was eliminated. The white stripe wire that tees off the line between the two relays that should go to the other connection on the override goes straight to the headlight switch. The headlights have been working since I purchased the car months ago but just stopped working. That's why I did not know about the override. During the process of fixing the lights I will reinstall a override switch like was intended.

Wonder what the hole in the cover is for. Was something in that hole when you started? Looks like he made a hole for something else, the original switch stuck straight down toward the floor underneath the dash.

I have no idea about the hole in the cover, I need to order another one anyway because one of the corners are broke off. Thanks
