Default Corvette C3 1979 Appreciate some advice

Hey guys, first time on this I'm from the UK, don't have too much knowledge with modifying cars and others to a car however, my dad is a mechanic where he does all the basics as a mechanic such as of course replace parts fix it etc ect. Im interested in buying a Louder exhaust system for my Corvette C3 Automatic i believe so its 1979 but I've only been told this as on the logbook it says 1990 which cannot be possible and true. However, on the sides it does say L-82 and i done research which could mean its a 1979 and I've seen others that are exactly the same and supposedly 1979. Finally old enough to drive it this summer and I'm looking to modify it and others.
Was wondering whats the loudest exhaust i can buy it? As i don't want to get any hate for this and please don't nag me about it, I'm young so of course i want something that wants attention and i found that there is a Magna flow exhaust.
Firstly, whats the difference between de cat or cat back and the others, secondly do i have to buy just the mufflers? kind of confused on what i need to buy whether its the whole exhaust system or just the magna flow mufflers as I'm not too sure about this, and how can i make sure I'm buying the right one? All i know about my car is its a Corvette C3 Automatic L-82 and I'm not sure if its a 79.
Secondly, there is a 1976 Corvette C3 1976 Auto small block 5.7 selling for quite cheap local which is about less then quarter the price of what it is new or on corvette central.( I will try add a photo, and you could possibly tell me if i need to buy anything else for it, thats if it fits).
Thirdly, is there any parts i could buy for it to boost the BHP of the car? As i said i don't know too much about cars but as i cant remap the car which is the more modern way now in the UK what parts or something could i buy for it to increase the horsepower of the car.
Would really appreciate if all you corvette specialists out there could help me identify my vehicle and answer my other questions, cheers.

The model year code is in the VIN. There is a 9 just before the S. The 9 stands for 1979. The engine code for the L-82 is a 4 (fifth digit of the VIN).

The model year code will be different.

...will the S be a G,Z,X,B?...
No. The S is the assembly plant code for St. Louis, Missouri were all 54-80 Corvettes were assembled. Most 1981 Corvettes were assembled at St. Louis, but a few were assembled at the new plant at Bowling Green, KY. All 82s were assembled at Bowling Green.
