What is the info on the 396? I dynoed our 396/425hp last year and it made 435hp with the wrong carb (650 instead of the 780), through stock intake and exhaust manifolds.
Curious as to what an original/untouched L78 really dynoed. Ofcourse headers are 30+ hp alone but..
Sub'd for specs and dyno data.

Good choice on the hood, I kinda like the yellow, although original Monaco orange maybe? The car looks great. Impressive work.

thank you! if i do repaint it,i figure the right thing to do would be the original color.i like it in dark green or gold though.my brother had a gold 69 when i was 5!been a little busy with the holidays, but i did buy another big block for the car.not the right motor but i don't want to use either motor i got with the car,for the car at this time.the motor i bought, came out of a vette.it has alot of parts i need.i am detailing it now and threw in a solid lifter cam/lifters and valve spring.more pics coming soon.thanks guys.

I've got a 74 convertible, L82 with the muncie close ratio four speed, A/C, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, deluxe interior, map light...all the goodies. The paint is shot. It hasn't been run in 30 years, but it was stored in the hayloft and no rust at all, the engine turns over by hand but we haven't tried to start it. I'm thinking about selling it, I've also got a 68 convertible that I will be restoring. My problem is, I have no idea what it's worth. Beautiful and rare car and should be a relatively easy project, anyone else have an opinion?

I agree. New thread. That 74 could get you a decent amount of cash to restore your 68. Or get it running and use it as a daily driver while you restore the 68. Either way you're way ahead.
