Where to Purchase "BLACK" Lt-1 Hood Stripes
I have a War Bonnet Yellow LT-1 but it has whites stripes. They should be BLACK. Looked at many sights and all they show are the white stripes and don't mention or give you an option to buy Black ones. Where do you purchase the BLACK stripes for a 1971? Do I assume they send the black and white strip kit?

All LT-1s had painted stripes from the factory, you can get a stencil and have
a body shop paint for you. The stripes are different from 70 to 71,72

Hi W,
I believe what you're seeing is the LT-! decal being offered, not the stripes which are only properly done with a stencil as LT-! kid mentioned.

My white stripes are not painted but some type of white stripe decal. Obviously it would be cheaper and easier to remove the white stripe and reapply a black one instead of painting it. I wonder what the NCRS point reduction would be?

Hi W,
That's an interesting question.
A car that has pin stripes added to it whether as paint or tape receives a total deduct for paint, both on originality and condition. It's considered a modification to the paint.
To be honest I don't know what would be done for stripes done with tape rather than with paint.
I don't think I've ever seen an LT-! presented for Flight Judging with tape stripes. But I'd think sometime ,somewhere, one was.
Why don't you start a thread at the DB to get an answer!
