LS5 and LS4 parts interchangability
I've a beautifully restored 1971 corvette 454 with only fault being engine knock, and I've also got a wrecked 1973 corvette which has a fully rebuilt 454 engine block in it.
Can the 1971 engine block be swapped out for favor of the rebuilt 1973 block without creating operating problems?
I know compression ratios differ and the 1973 had A.I.R provisions. But I'm looking to complete the 1971 with this engine replacement whilst hopefully retain all the near new 1971 engine bay characteristics.
(ie install the 1971 manifolds/valve covers intake etc onto just the 1973 engine block, and connect up the 71 wiring loom.)
Numbers not matching anyway.
Appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Easy Swap
It should be an easy swap.
All the accessory holes should be the same. You will be able to use your old exhaust and intake manifolds as well as the oil pan and water pump.
