Default Why do I want to buy another corvette, am I sick?

I'M really starting to think I have a problem. And good thing I started out on the corvette endeavor with my girl, because I run it all by her. She grounds me out. But I search out craigslist, call on good deals, some are much better cars than we have now. I always end up just keeping the one we have. But I just spied a nice red 79 L82 with an Oyster interior for little money, guy has had it for 20 years always garaged, he's I'll so he wants to sell it. Blah blah blah. I can't be the only one......can I? If I had my way I'd have a slew of them in different colors and years. Thank god I don't have the bank roll to support it. But I really think it's becoming an addiction.

Yes I get it. I just added another one to my stable also. The Vette is staying but I bought something else I have always wanted it was not cheap either but my girl said I should go get one if that is what you really want. So I did.

I just added another one - saved it - will become a racer - better then the bone yard - we all stimulate the economy - wife the last to know -

Last time I told her about the purchase beforehand we got in a HUGE argument in which she said;
"If you really wanted it as bad as you say, you would have done what you always do and buy it and then tell me"

Good enough for me,

Happy Motoring !

Frank

P.S. Yes it's a sickness.

Just make sure you get everything in life while she is just your girl because when most of them become your wife the answer is always " NO , we don't have the money for that , or you don't need any more toys " I guess I'm just lucky because my wife always wants to go with me when I'm buying something but when I ran my restoration business probably 40% of the time they had to get the wife's permission or she would kill the deal altogether. Just saying !

It is always better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission. If you can afford it, just do it.

I hear ya on that one, it's a tie right now, one Ex, one vette. My girl is so much better at money than I am, and she's the reason I have a vette. I never really was partial to them, love my old Mopars. So this is one area we do together. She doesn't complain when I spend too much time with it. realistically to buy a second one would require a nice garage. But the worst part is I drive by an 80 everyday and each year it gets uglier and uglier, I am always compelled to stop and ask if it's for sale. Guess with thanksgiving coming up I should just be grateful I have what I have I seriously could have one in each color and enjoy each one.

Sorry Toonz... you`re right, it IS a sickness! But you`re not alone. With everything we have (see signature line), I do the same as you! I still search ebay, craigslist, Hemmings, etc.... for what, I don`t know. A 69 Firebird, a 72 Riviera, a 33 Pontiac, a 58 Bonneville, and another Vette.... maybe a C2.... would look nice.

I just bought number 4 corvette (8 total vehicles) but I was helping the seller that was really sick- he had twenty.

Tooonz- there are many hobbies, sicknesses, addictions, that are far worse than having more than one Corvette.

I have two. Planning on getting another when I hit 60 in a couple years. If it's a sickness I can't think of a better way to die if it's terminal.

You aren't alone. I understand completely. It's like hoarding disorder. If you have a passion and can afford it, you should pursue your dreams. My long suffering wife has been very understanding over the years with my car addiction but I think she's fast reaching the end of her rope

I know what you mean. Lack of garage space is keeping me from getting a 65 I've been thinking about.

Default It doesn't make you a bad person.

I think most of us need to go to weekly meetings. Hi, my name is Bob and I have an issue.😃

I have a few corvettes (7) and only one is running right now. The wife said that I can't buy any more cars until I finish them. I don't see it as a problem, I'm just building inventory so that when I retire (soon), I have plenty of projects.
