Default Does anyone have 1972 AIM UPC 0, sheet 17 that's dated prior to 12-16-71

Hi, I'm trying to find a page in the 1972 AIM prior to its revision on 12-16-71. It's page number: UPC 0, SHEET 17 Miscellaneous Shipping List. I'd like to see the first revision of this sheet.

The page lists the different booklets, pamphlets, and misc items that were included with the car from the factory. Since my car was built a month earlier than the revision date, I'd like to see what's different. This revision states the Owners Manual (second edition) is included. The page I'm looking to see would simply say Owners Manual and not specify the edition number, but would be the first edition of #328789 that was printed in September 1971.

I'm also looking to see if part# 3964573 might be included (engine starting procedure/info on GM New Ignition Lock System - printed on Cardboard Slip) that was placed over the sun visor, because on 12-16-71 that item is not mentioned BUT a factory sticker, #6263563, was adhered to the sun visor with that same information in December 1971.

So if anyone has a copy of the 1972 AIM page prior to the 12-16-71 revision date , I'd really like to have a copy of the page. Thank you.

Thanks,
Joe

Thought I would try to help, but that page in my book is also dated 12-16-71. Oh well! Hopefully you can find someone that has what you are looking for...

Hi jh,
From what I read it seems the difference between the two 1972 'Owners Manuals' was the inclusion of seat belt sensor information in the LATER edition.
The parts change on the production line was apparently implemented before the change had been made to the Owners Manual.
A separate sheet entitled "Occupant Restraint Belts, One-Buckle System", white 8-1/2"x 11", pn328781, dated Nov. 1971, was inserted in the Owners Manual beginning in November 1971.
Does this help you determine what your car should have?
Regards,
Alan

Partially Alan. Thanks. However, I was also trying to find out if that sun-visor cardboard folder(#3964573) was still being used on pre-Dec 71 '72 model year vettes. Beginning in late 1971 they started using the sticker adhered to the drivers side visor, so I wanted to find out IF before then, were they still putting part#3964573 on the drivers side visors? Did they include 3964573 on your 71 car?

Hi jh,
As far as I know 71 model year cars didn't have the Starting Procedure label on the visor.
The info I have indicates a date for the label is 11-23-71. It was part #327568. It appears there might also be cars with labels that have a different part # and no date.
Regards,
Alan

I just checked mine and it's also 12-16-71. The car is a November build. I also have a 72 judging guide that I've never looked at if there is anything in there that would help. I looked through the box of papers that came with the car. The original tank sticker is in there, the starting instructions pictured above are in there (and laminated). The owner's manual is the original dated Sept 71. There are judging sheets from NCRS from three different judging sessions. If there is anything in any of this that would help let me know and I'll get the info to you.

Hi jh,
I don't recognize it as being something that was included with 72 model year cars.
Could it be from 69….when the position of the ignition lock moved?
What's the date on it? When I enlarge the picture the digits become illegible.
Regards,
Alan

It's dated 10-2-68 and is 2 sided with ENGINE STARTING INSTRUCTIONS on the other side. It's cardboard, maybe 10" x 6", opens up in the center and I guess was placed over the visors of some year Corvettes and other Chevys. I was hoping it was used on 71s and 72s, as the person selling it to me said. It was only $15. Here's a picture of the other side of it.
Thanks, Joe

Hi jh,
In the 68-69 manual a card, as in your picture, is shown that was placed around the driver's side visor.
So you've got something nice there!
The 70-72 makes no mention of it continuing into 70 model year cars.
From your picture….I can't tell….. is it a 'pocket' that slipped on to the visor?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan for the info! Yes, it folds open so it could slide over a visor. On the backside is the glued seam across the middle. Even though it's not for my car, hopefully i can find someone who would want it.
