I ordered this from Corvette America & there is no way with the metal bands it will stretch to fit air cleaner or cold air duct. P/N 23059 . 1KH1160EA says 76- 81. Can anybody help with one that will fit? Thanks

Do you have the stock air cleaner can?

You should release the lever, slide it on the air cleaner and then push the lever down tightening up the hose to the air cleaner. It's very very tight the first time but it should close.

There is only one manufacturer on this part right now so there isn't an alternative. If it won't install per above, possibly you got a defective one.

I've been able to get the replacement vinyl(not paper)ducts to fit. Very tight, tho.

It lacks a full inch I can't even pry it on with a big screw driver yes I did release the clips. I can try to buy another one do you have them?

Does it have the metal bands inside that's what won't expand to fit they are stapled to the vinyl? Where did you get yours?

I carry them but it sounds to me as if you may have a bad one. I'd put it on and then take a picture.. send it to them and see if you can get another one. If you have the clips released and it won't slip over the air cleaner then something is wrong.

I even cut the clips to see if then I could get it on no go even then the vinyl was all folded in side the openings on both ends folding it out didn't help. The one in the picture was gone when the car was delivered to me.

The others you have may be defective also. Any way you can check do you have an 78 air cleaner to test fit it on?
