Default T-Top Holders are The Boss!

I recently fell in favor of a generous member here who let go of his GM NOS set of T-Top Luggage Rack Mounts to me. They are fantastic.

I no longer have to wrestle them into the back seat area, nicking up the upholstery, and covering up the rear compartments, thus making them inaccessible. It's a very nice option at least for us warm weather drivers who can frequently drive with the tops off.
I am most appreciative Jim. Thanks again.

Steve

Although mine mostly live at home, towards the end of the season when it's getting colder they come along for the ride

Only PIA is if you need to gas up but that's just the nature of the beast.

Hijack ok Mike.
I don't know what the difference is between a '77 & a '78, but I'll bet someone here does.

No luggage rack/t-top carrier for a 68-77 is going to work on a 78.

This is what you need for the 78 to 82 Corvettes. It was a factory option on the 80-82 models. And I still have mine and love them.

I have a set on the shelf and if you use the current sale code you can save 10 percent off the price. I've never tried to mount these on a 78-82 luggage rack but I have one of those and I think the tube spacing is the same on the rails.. I'd have to check that on Monday.

Looks like this, but I don't know where to purchase them from.

I'd go with Willcox. They're a good company who stand behind what they sell.

I have not seen no vendors that sells the original brackets for the 80-82 models like I have. Seem some on Ebay for about $750 - 900. Factory option for 1981 cost was $135.

I was able to score a set for $500, and later lucked into a bag that matched my interior. Bought the well nuts from Keen parts. Had all the stuff for 2 years and finally got the nerve over the summer to drill those big holes in the rear deck thanks to an awedome writeup by RonR80 on their club website as the AIM left alot to be desired. Now I never want to be without them.

I don't have anything that will work for a 78-82 I'm sorry. I went by the shop today and pulled a 78-82 rack to see if they would work. I have a set of the carriers I leave on my 72, so I just removed one from it and I guess I found out my answer pretty quick.

The gap between the middle rails are wider on the 78-82 cars because of the larger gas door. They won't fit... Funny thing is that the pins are the correct spacing. I didn't want to try bending

Default It's not my day...

I have a '74 coupe without a luggage rack and a '74 vert WITH one, what I really need is for the cars to be the other way around. I don't want to drill holes in the deck lid of the coupe, as I don't like the look of the racks. I would prefer not to have the rack on the 'vert, but don't want to remove it and have to fill the holes and repaint it.

Regards from Down Under.
